Since the start of the pandemic, much of the communication that takes place in work and other situations has shifted from face-to-face to videoconferencing platforms such as MS Teams and Zoom.
Everyone feels down some of the time, but I find that taking the first step or steps towards completing a task can sometimes help lift the mood and escape from any thoughts that are troubling.
But if one is not feeling good, the problem can sometimes be getting started at all.
I decided to look at this issue by considering how finding the right way of starting, organising or addressing a task can help to break out of a low mood and achieve a sense of wellbeing.
(more…)With the pandemic continuing in a very serious fashion, we are all faced with the challenge of how to keep ourselves and those we care about feeling OK.
One of the things I have learnt in previous jobs and life situations, as well as this one, is that it is generally good to be able to perform in a way that plays to one’s strengths. In other words, working and living in ways that utilise our own aptitudes and abilities. This can tend to make us feel more positive about life and have more of a good impact on those we are trying to help.
